I was so scared and overall just super shy. The tech and the girl at the desk were so friendly and casual about everything, it really seemed like no big deal. Thanks ladies! Needless to say, I'm now a monthly member. 😁

If I could give u guys 40 stars I would, today was the first time I’ve ever had a wax below my eyebrows and mannnnn I freaking loved it. I WILL NEVER GO ANYWHERE ELSE.

Ramona was awesome! Great job, super personable, and very very nice. The shop itself was inviting and loved how it was decorated. Definitely recommend.

The waxers here do a great job! The waxes are quick and there is little pain. I’ve been several times and the membership makes it much cheaper than other wax salons.

This is the first time that I have waxed before and I had such a pleasant experience that I will definitely be coming back. The lady that had helped me was Daysi and she had made me feel very comfortable and had made me not stress as much as I originally was.

I went there this morning for a Brazilian and they took great care of me. Scheduling was super easy, they have a great membership program, and the workers were incredibly kind and professional!

This business is fantastic! The employees are wonderful and super helpful. I go to the same gal every time and she is simply fabulous! I am always impressed with the professional and yet friendly service.

FAQs

What hurts more, sugaring or waxing? ›

With sugaring, the paste doesn't stick to the top layer of skin. Instead, it adheres to hair and dead skin cells so there's less risk of hair breakage and skin irritation. Because of this, some people report less pain with sugaring. On the other hand, waxing adheres completely to the top layer of the skin.

Is Brazilian wax or sugaring better? ›

Choosing between sugaring and waxing will depend on the body area, hair thickness, and length. For fine hair, Ramirez suggests sugaring, and for thicker hair, he recommends waxing. "Clients tend to comment that smoother results last longer with sugaring than waxing," he says.

How much do you tip for sugar wax? ›

How Much to Tip for Facials, Waxing, and Other Spa Services. “It's customary to provide an 18 to 20 percent gratuity for any spa service, no matter if it's sugaring or a Biologique Recherche facial,” Angela Rosen, owner of Penelope & The Beauty Bar in Seattle and Daphne in New York City, tells Allure.

What is the sugar to water ratio for sugar wax? ›

In general, you want a 2:1 sugar-to-liquid ratio. So if you use 1 cup of sugar, add 1/4 cup of lemon juice and 1/4 cup of water. Pour all the ingredients in a saucepan and give it a good mix. Once all the ingredients are thoroughly combined, place your saucepan on a burner.

What lasts longer, waxing or sugaring? ›

Waxing keeps your body smooth and hairless for one month or longer, while sugaring can only last for four or five weeks. Since hair is eliminated from the root through waxing consistently every four weeks, the hair will grow back finer and softer.

What are the cons of sugar waxing? ›

Although sugar waxing is gentler than waxing, it can still cause a small amount of trauma to the skin, which can result in inflammation. Sometimes, this may result in discoloration. People with darker skin tones are more likely than those with lighter skin to experience post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

Is it rude not to tip your waxer? ›

While most people tip between 10 to 20 percent for a wax, staff would really like you to tip anywhere from 15 to 25 percent for a job well done, Grochowska said. For a quick brow wax (that may be priced at $10 or less), a couple of dollars for tip is fair and appropriate.

Is sugaring more expensive than waxing? ›

However, sugaring hair removal treatments are usually more expensive. Waxing uses a mixture of beeswax and other ingredients, which may not be 100% natural, depending on where you get your treatment. The main difference between the sugaring and waxing process is the direction the hair is pulled.

Should I trim before a sugar wax? ›

First of all, don't worry about trimming your hair pre-sugaring. The worst-case scenario is that you'll trim it too short and your sugarista won't be able to complete the sugaring. The ideal length for hair is about the size of a grain of rice, but if it's longer, it doesn't matter.

Is lemon juice necessary for sugar wax? ›

The reason you use lemon juice in this mix is to keep the sugar soft and it acts as a preservative. I've heard you can use most acids from lime/orange/vinegar, but lemon juice is the standard. If you decide to go for vinegar, use half the amount, 2 tbsp, since it will be more acidic than lemon juice.

How can I make sugar wax more effective? ›

(If you've come across it…) the hard sugar method will work, but I found applying fresh wax strips every time wax much more effective. Gently exfoliate after to help prevent ingrown hairs. If your wax cools or hardens too much, zap it in the microwave for 10 seconds.

Does sugar wax work on pubic hair? ›

The bikini area is prone to ingrown hairs, especially with hair removal methods such as waxing and shaving which cause broken hairs to become trapped below the surface of the skin. Sugaring gently removes hair from the root in the direction of growth and significantly reduces the incidence of ingrown hair.
