On Aug. 3, Team USA kicked off their medal-winning count with the men's rowing team securing bronze during the men's eight event. Simone Biles took home her 10th Olympic medal, securing the gold in the women's vault and her teammate, Jade Carey took bronze. In men's gymnastics, Mr. Pommel Horse Stephen Nedoroscik took home the bronze in his specialty, making him the only male Team USA gymnast to medal in an individual event.

The day before, on Aug. 2, Team USA added six medals overall, though none gold. Sagen Maddalena won silver during the women's 50m rifle 3 positions, and the U.S. sailing team took home bronze in the men's skiff event. Grant Fisher earned a bronze in the men's 10,000m —making him just the second U.S.-born medalist in that event since 1964, NBC News reports.

The U.S. equestrians also took home a silver in the jumping team event.

Team USA swimmer Regan Smith also picked up a silver medal — her third — in the 200-meter backstroke.

Aug. 1 was a good day for the Americans, as they earned a few gold medals. In addition to Ledecky's historic win, two of her teammates also medaled: Kate Douglass won gold in the 200m breaststroke and Regan Smith won silver in the 200m butterfly.

The U.S. men’s rowing team also took home the gold in the four rowing event, the Americans’ first Olympic gold in the race since 1960, and the fencing team won gold in the women's team foil. The win marks the first time the U.S. has ever taken home a gold medal in a team fencing event, NBC News reports.

That same day, Simone Biles earned another gold, as well. She and fellow Team USA competitor Suni Lee faced off in the individual all-around competition. In the end, Biles took the top spot, Brazil’s Rebeca Andrade, Biles’ top competitor, took the silver, and Lee claimed the bronze.

On July 30, Biles became the most decorated American gymnast in Olympic history after she and U.S. teammates Suni Lee, Jordan Chiles, Jade Carey and Hezly Rivera won gold in the women’s gymnastics team final event. Biles now has eight medals across three Olympic Games.

Biles, Ledecky and all the other Olympians who have received medals in the past few days get to bask in their moment of glory on top of the podium.

On July 29, the men’s gymnastics team also had a historic day after earning its first team medal at an Olympic Games since 2008.

Brody Malone, Frederick Richard, Paul Juda, Asher Hong and Stephen Nedoroscik cheered each other on as they showed off their skills on the floor, pommel horse, still rings, vault, parallel bars and horizontal bar. The men’s gymnastics team ended the day with a bronze model while Japan took home gold and China was awarded the silver medal.
