Jeannine Margot Daniels: 1946 – 2024
Jeannine Daniels, 78 year old resident of Newcastle, Wyoming passed away August 6, 2024 at Rapid City Monument Health with her daughters by her side as God welcomed her home.
Jeannine was born in Ohio on July 19, 1946 to Fred and Dorothy (Buck) Harvel. She was raised by her loving grandparents, Walter and Gladys (Grove) Buck. Jeannine was one of nine children.
Jeannine met and married Robert Daniels in which three children were born: Charlene (Susie), Elizabeth and Rebecca. She spent the majority of her life being a homemaker. She was a kind, funny and loving woman and was always willing to help those in need.
Jeannine is proceeded in death by her husband Robert; her oldest daughter, Susie Soneson; brother, Jeffery; great-granddaughter, Kelsee; her parents; and grandparents.
Jeannine is survived by her daughters: Elizabeth (James) Burgess of Idaho, Rebecca (Jason) Oedekoven of Wyoming; grandchildren: Kyler (Brooke) Ford of South Dakota, Don Daniels, Robbie (Ceara) Daniels, Tanner Potter, all from Wyoming, Trinnity (Manny) Montoya of North Dakota; and several great-grandchildren; her siblings: Sidney (Stanley) Blake, Texanna Packer, Chloe (Bob) Packer, Molly (Bob), Brennan, Lindsay Harvel, Judy (Mitch) Bickham, Cliff Harvel.
A celebration of life will be held at a later time in September.
Alicia Joan Heckel: 1957 – 2024
Alicia Joan Heckel has left this life to pursue a new career as Director of Bling, Shoes, Purses and Chocolate in heaven.
Alicia was born January 9, 1957 in Deadwood to Ed and Mary Nelson. Alicia married Tim Heckel, September 2, 1978. She was an awesome mom to their son, Brock.
Although there are many words to describe Alicia, here are some that quickly came to mind of her friends and family:
Good friend: she was willing to do anything for anyone.
Cancer survivor: Alicia battled and beat breast cancer.
Competitive: she loved playing board games and cards at family events and she loved playing dominos with her friends at Primrose in Gillette.
Party Gal: she loved to plan parties and fun events for friends and family.
Organizer: there was a place for everything and everything was in its place, safely filed and labeled.
Helpful: Alicia could talk to anyone and she was always willing to share helpful hints and advice.
Traveler: Alicia loved to travel and go to new places and explore different areas of the USA.
Classic car buff: Alicia loved to attend numerous classic car shows throughout the Midwest and she enjoyed being a member of the Campbell County Classics and Customs Car Club.
Generous: Alicia loved giving her time to great causes. She helped with funeral services at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Gillette. She was on the board of the Campbell County Senior Center. She was a member of a sorority as well as a PEO member with both groups helping when needed.
Denver Broncos fan: Alicia loved watching the Broncos with Tim and Brock. She especially loved the tradition of pizza and Broncos games on Sunday afternoon at home.
Alicia was preceded in death by parents, Ed and Mary Nelson; and son, Brock Heckel. Survivors include her husband, Tim; sister, Maralee; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services for Alicia will be held Wednesday, August 14, 10 a.m. at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Gillette, Wyoming with a luncheon/fellowship in the parish hall immediately following the service.
Memorial to Campbell County Health and Hospice.
Inurnment will be at a later date at Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis South Dakota with a celebration of life to follow at the Deadwood VFW.

Terry Lloyd Jones: 1949 – 2024
Terry passed on Friday, August 2, 2024 at his residence in Gillette, surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 75. Memorial services will be conducted on Monday, August 12 at Gillette Memorial Chapel (210 W. 5th St.) at 10 a.m., to be officiated by Bishop Chet Parker.
Terry was born in Price, Utah on April 7, 1949 and was essentially raised within the state. He enlisted in the Army in 1967 and was stationed at Ft. Bliss, Texas. After graduating from basic training, he entered the field of helicopter maintenance at Ft. Eustis, Virginia, before becoming a paratrooper at Ft. Benning, Georgia, and eventually settling at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina. Terry also valiantly served for two years in Vietnam.
Terry married Jean Marie Walker on Sept. 24, 1973, in his parent’s home in Tooele, Utah. Jean had three children at that time: Kristie, Lauri, and Ronny Park. Heather was born in Utah. Shortly after, the family moved to Wyoming. Nanette was born in Casper, Wyoming. Shortly after, the family moved to Douglas, Wyoming and finally ended up in Gillette, Wyoming. Jean passed in an untimely fashion in 1982.
Terry married Lori Davis on April 14, 1984, and from that union came a child, Jesse James Jones, born on September 29, 1992. Terry and Lori enjoyed a western lifestyle complete with horses for the three kids who lived with them at that time. Terry wore cowboy boots every day until he broke his toe bowling and discovered sneakers. Unashamed and unafraid, Terry often wore a cowboy hat that made him look like Festus, but his appearance never seemed to stop him!
Terry was a mechanic at the coal mine for 27 years, beginning with Sun Coal Mine, where Terry saw the ownership change several times, until it became its most recent incarnation as Navajo Transitional Energy Company. His professional pursuits gave his family a comfortable lifestyle and paid for his hobbies. Terry retired at the age of 58 to enjoy his life with wife, kids, and grandchildren.
With any available free time, Terry could be found at Perkins connecting with friends. Those who spent time with him there know that treasured memories can come from the strangest places…even a Perkins restaurant.
When the grandkids entered the family, Terry wanted horses again, and that too became an adventurous reality for the whole family to enjoy. Family activities Terry loved to watch (other than barrel racing) included dirt track racing (Paxton), football (Leo), soccer (Clyde and Cashush and Bently), basketball (Leo), and track (Leo).
Terry had an unwavering love for his grandkids and took great care of them until his end. He was a truly wonderful, dedicated, and respected man to his family, as well as all who know and love him.
Terry is survived by his present wife, Lori; children: Ronnie Park (Flor), Kristie Park, Lori McClain (Rick), Heather Essen (Michael), Nanette Sachse (Peter), and Jesse James Jones (Danielle); grandchildren: Alex, Jean, Ashley, Skyler, Natalie, McKayla, Jacob, Dallis, Dillon, Tyler, Aspen, Michael Dale, Paizley, Paxton, Abby, Bently, Leo, Jauzlin, Cashush, Clyde, Juztice, Taylynn, and Tucker.
George Rolland Sleeth: 1939 – 2024
George Rolland Sleeth, 85, passed away at his home on August 6, 2024. George was born March 26, 1939, in Baker, Montana to Edna and Everertt Sleeth. He and his six siblings were raised in Baker, Montana where their father owned the Sleeth Bar.
George met the love of his life, Beatrice “Bea” Sleeth, in high school. He enlisted in the Navy in September, 1956 and served until August, 1962. George and Bea moved around until they found their forever home in Gillette, Wyoming. There they raised their four children. George worked in the oilfield for L&H welding and machinery. He soon branched out and started his own business, George’s Rig Service. He had a successful 50+ years of business until he partially retired. He continued to consult for the oilfield until he fully retired to enjoy time with his wife and family.
He leaves behind his sisters, Cleo Lee, and Bernice Rolfson; children, Robert G. “Bob” Sleeth, Barbera J. “Barb” Hammond (Bryan), Cynthia “Cindy” R. Lesko (Christopher); grandchildren: Miranda Brandt (Adam), Chan Kern, Madeline “Maddy” Lesko (Lucas “Luke” Wallace), Katie Lesko; great-grandchildren: Austin Brandt (Allison), Lily Brandt, Alexis Kravanic, Claire Kern and Iralyn Lesko-Wallace; and great-great-granddaughter, Darbee Brandt. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice “Bea” Sleeth; son, Paul R. Sleeth; brother, Donald Sleeth; Bill Sleeth; Theodore Sleeth; and sister, Claudia McLaughlin.
Rebecca Ann Trigg: 1943 – 2024
Rebecca Ann Trigg passed away at her home in Rozet on Friday, August 9, 2024
Pastor Greg Pollick will be leading Becky’s Celebration of Life at Gillette Memorial Chapel on Thursday August 15, 2024 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in the Gillette Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday August 14, 2024 from 5-7 p.m. at Gillette Memorial Chapel.
Rebecca Ann Trigg was born on June 20, 1943, the first child to Vincent and Leola Thar in Gillette, Wyoming. Rebecca, known to her friends as Becky, her grandchildren as Nana, Gram or Grandma and was usually only called Rebecca when in trouble as a child or when her sweet husband Robert was calling for her, lived her life loving and caring for those around her. She is remembered by her strength, commitment to her family and her beautiful smile that could brighten anyone’s day. Rebecca Ann (Thar) Trigg went to be with the lord, and those who have gone before her, on August 9, 2024. She died peacefully in the presence of family in her home. At the time of her death she was 81 years old, however, if you asked her, she quit living her life based on her age in her 50’s, so she never remembered her age very often.
Becky grew up with her brother, Gary Thar, who she would consider in life one of her best friends. Then in her late teens, she was blessed with two younger sisters, Sherryl Lindblom and Shelly Clark, whom she was 17 and 20 years older than; she cherished her relationships with each of them.
When Becky graduated high school from Moorcroft, Wyoming she moved to Rapid City, South Dakota to attend the National School of Business. While attending the wedding of a childhood friend, Becky met the love of her life, Robert Trigg. He remembers she was a catch and he must have been a decent dancer to have her stay around. They married on May 15, 1964 they started their life together with a 1957 Chevy Bel-Air and $50 to their name.
Becky and Robert celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year with their friends and family. Shortly after they were married, Robert was stationed in Guam for his assignment with the U.S. Navy. This determined and strong young woman from the prairie of Wyoming joined him to spend two years living the island life. Both would recall the fun they had during those two years of their marriage. After, the couple returned to Wyoming where they had two children, Kathryn and Allen.
She spent her child-raising years busy; she was always helping with FFA and 4-H projects, running a ceramic store in Rozet and craft mall in Gillette, teaching classes at the Senior Center. Becky was an amazing artist and was always thinking about what she was going to create next from toll painting, ceramics, quilting, weaving, you name it and she probably could do it; one of the things so many of us admired about her.
In the mid 1990’s, the couple moved to Golconda, Nevada. Becky was no stranger to the community there. While Robert worked at the gold mine, Becky ran her quilting business. She was involved with the Quilt Guild in the local community, maintained a beautiful yard in the desert and ran the local water board implementing a new water structure for the rural community. In their retirement years, Becky enjoyed fishing and camping, going to trade shows all over the country to sell their crafts and making new friends along the way. She always said Robert would talk to a fence post if it would nod every once in a while, so she had no problems meeting people on their travels.
Around 2011, the couple moved to Pocatello, Idaho where again she became involved in the community. Becky and Robert would fish frequently, help run local estate sales and travel to visit friends and family. In 2018, Becky and Robert moved back home to Rozet, Wyoming and remodeled her parents home. In the remodel, Robert ensured that she had a large sewing room where she could have room to create and enjoy her time. If it was ever up to Becky, she would put her own needs and wants on the back burner for everyone else, so Robert had to put his foot down and tell her that the sewing room was necessary.
In her last few years, she spent her time caring for Robert, helping raise her great-grandchildren, spending time with loved ones, tending to her chickens, enjoying her beloved dog “Pickles” and crafting in her sewing room.
Some of Becky’s best memories are her days spent fishing with Robert, being present for the births of her great-granddaughters, watching her children and grandchildren grow up and become adults; she was proud of all of their accomplishments, big or small, watching them show their animals at county fair and enjoying her garden with all her flowers growing beautifully.
Becky is survived by her husband, Robert Trigg; her brother, Gary (Susie) Thar; her sisters: Sherryl (Greg) Lindblom, Shelly (Kent) Clark; also by her wonderful children: Kathryn “Kate” (Curt) Terrett and Allen (Karen) Trigg; her beloved grandchildren: Meghan (Ethan) Young, Vincent (Rylee) Bell, Rachel Bell and Robert Trigg; and her adorable great-grandchildren: Jocelyn Herrman, Leola Herrman, Merritt Young and Leila Bell; along with numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.
She would also tell you that in life blood doesn’t always make you family and she had many friends that she would consider her family, who were there for her whenever she needed them.
Becky is preceded in death by her parents, Vincent and Leola Thar.
Memorials and condolences may be sent to P.O. Box 293 Rozet, Wyoming 82727. At her request, she does not want anyone in attendance to wear black; she requested before her death that her life be celebrated with fond memories of her and that she be remembered for living a life full of love.
